September 11, 8 years later

Had friends and acquaintances in the towers. Never got word of their fate from some.

"Have I ever been to the hole".  I am a born and raised NYer.  I walked home that day to the Bronx.  I pass it with either the Duc or car regularly.  I don't walk around there as the tourists and souvenir sellers piss me off to the extent of which you can't imagine. 

It's not a simple thing, I agree, but we have three new sports stadiums done in two years each.  Other skyscrapers go up at ridiculous rates.  The State, City, developers, contractors and some of the families have all put monkey wrenches in the rebuilding process in one way or another.  The amount of time that has progressed is an embarrasement.

Perhaps their is a fear that if we build the Towers again some how they will be a target again by Al Qaeda ?

I was in the Northern territory of AU on Sept 12th (date line). I never saw any of the footage/pictures until months later, so even now it's hard to believe any of it ever happened.

I was working as a mechanic for United on Sep 11. What happened still haunts me. A friend of mine was going to take a buddy pass of mine to fly to New york & back to S.F. in fact he was in the air when that all happened. Instead of using the buddy pass he got a confirmed seat on Jet blue instead. Watched the whole thing happen on TV from his seat. He had to spend 3 days at some airport in Iowa but at least he didn't go in the dirt like flight 91.


Speaking of delayed projects, the Stupid Bay bridge wont be finished for another 4 years. The earth quake happened in 89'. it's been like what 20 years now?
