crgs are the best for visibility IMO

i dont like any mirrors besides crg and rizoma, currently have rizomas but cant see shit out of them!
the things we do in the name of 'style'!

The problem with the oberons, and indeed most barend mirrors... is the mounting system being made of metal..
metal on metal + ducati = rattling loose.

i installed oberon SF mirrors on my lady's gixxer, but instead of using the metal-on-metal mounting kit supplied with the mirrors, i used the expanding rubber mounting system that was already attached to her barend weights that were being removed. The rubber holds the mirror in place VERY securely, but also absorbs some vibration, helping combat the problem. also, since the rubber is smooth, and not digging into interior surface of the handlebar, you can give it a twist (with a little force) if you need to adjust on the fly, without having any problems...

basically it works like a bushing.

here's what the barend mounts look like:

I have CRG lane-splitters (these are the folding model, IF installed correctly. You would not believe the number I have seen installed in front of the bar! DOH!)

The view is great/clear but as with most bar-ends of this size (relatively small compared to regular mirrors) not large and in charge. Still, I would have no other mirror....  [thumbsup]

Can you post a picture? now you've got me worried??

I have rizoma's myself, the retros.  Decent view, but I still need to slightly shift my elbow occasionally.  It really depends on the angle.  I really dig the style though, so I take the elbow shift in stride.

I assume you are after a pic of an "incorrect" installation, yes? Alas I have none as I try to put the image out of my mind and camera!  [laugh]

But if you look at mine (installed correctly):

and then picture the mirror mount rotated forward where it puts the mirror in front of the bar/bar end (stopping it from folding back as it will hit the bar end), you will get the "picture".  ;D

I'm not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example!

These little fleabay knock-offs of the crg's are what I use and work great for those who are not on a crg budget.

I got the ebay ones and after a couple of days the screws that are behind the mirror started to come loose. The only problem is that the only way to access the screws to tighten is by taking the mirror off. It was kind of a pain to do but what I did was take the mirror off using dental floss, put gorilla glue on the threads of the screws behind it and then put the mirror back on with gorilla glue, it was previously held on with think sticky tape. Hasnt loosened since.

how bout napoleons?

+1, I love napoleons, they look good, are inexpensive, rubber mounted and give a great vibration free view.
build a man a fire and he's warm for a day, set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life...

I had the Napoleons, still do in a box.  They are good mirrors, good build quality, reasonable price, and a very good view behind you.  The only thing I didn't like is that they are a little big.  I like the looks of smaller mirrors better.

the fleabay knock offs give u better view convex lens and bigger lens, but these crg LS i just install are beyond beautiful just dont like they were so damn pricey

CRG's are the best. I'e never had an issue with them rattling loose...and I've been using them for a lot of miles.

Cyclegear makes CRG knock-offs for $60 if you want something a bit cheaper.
