 Amazing Ohlins
Went for a proper 100+ mile trash on the S4 around Pattaya Rayong Choburi area , with the new OHLINS PRCS46 rear shock what a difference from the old Sachs unit no wallowing compliant but firm over bumps, smooth ,rear end seems welded to the road even over the worst surface the bike now handle like its on rails ...brilliant and i have not yet even fitted the Hyperpro fork springs which are supposed to make the front end as compliant thats a days work maybe next week if i have time...thanks Protwins UK for the sales pitch and amazingly cheap deal .

This bike gets better and better .ha ha ..Manic grin as I went round corners 20mph faster than before ,no sore bum either and easy to stoppy seems to help braking when the bike is not shimmying all over the road.

Norm ... not needed apparently all the race suspension Gurus say standard Showas with Hypero Springs 10w oil and maybe a revalve I fine on many race bikes.

How much do you weigh and what spring did you get?

I weigh 77kg about 170llbs and thats the spring that was specified it works well.I dont know the number but will try and find it .

I'm guessing that those are the "gurus" that want to modify your forks. If you want Ohlins performance in the 43mm Showa forks, Ohlins will scrap the internals and put their own in for you. It's what they do for racing classes that don't allow a change in forks from OEM.
Ps: I don't consider myself a suspension "guru", but I've installed a lot of Hyperpro springs, 10wt oil, and every other trick available and you can make some pretty big improvements, but when I want the best forks, I go the Ohlins folks in Hendersonville.

Norm thats probably true but out in Thailand I have few options so modification by bringing parts from UK is really only option,, also i have the bikes handling nearly perfect to my way of riding and comfort ,Protwins prepare a lot of race bikes in UK and also sell about 250 Dukes a year they do have a good team of knowledgable guys ,also several other UK based Duke Suspension Gurus rate the mods I have done to my forks already They are just a little harsh now so the springs should cure that.

Norm

Well, I do like Hyperpro springs.

All the products i have looked at Ohlins,Nitron, Wilbers , hyperpro,Ktech   is all good quality stuff and i am glad i have got the S4  setup the way i like it ... its been a struggle but worth it .
