I have signed up for the track day. This will be my first and I can not wait. I've been planning on this since I went to the AMS day last year just as an observer. I hope to learn alot, meet some folks, and have fun.

Cool, I'm going to start saving my extra lunch money for a fresh set of tires.  The ones that are on there now are from LAST October's AMS track day... Solid rocks  Lips Sealed

Yeah I'm still rollin the same tires I put two track days on late last year.  They slide in some turns.... lots of fun.  I have a laundry list of things if I'm to make the last track day this year.  If I get some money together for tires and clip ons, I'll try to make the last one.  If not, I'm just waiting for next year and my one of these days new bike.  We're working stupid hours and still shooting for our refi.  Just got the buildings set up in an LLC ( finally ) so its official bank shopping time.  Assuming I get the refi, then next year is a house and bike hopefully.  I'll be able to spend money again lol.   waytogo

The 24th. What kind of prep needs to be done to the bike for the track? I'm thinking pull fuse for the lights, tape all the lenses, remove mirrors and be in good mechanical condition which it is. Just did service and has good tires. What else does it need? Thanks and see you there

Tape or remove license plate, lights, mirrors and turn signals.  For most events, you can just tape mirrors.  Make sure your gear is sufficient... They prefer you in leathers, but if you're running level1/beginner, you can wear textile.  Good helmet, boots and gloves.  Always good to have plenty of fluids(water, Gatorade etc...) gas, chair, shade (ez-up tent) or a friend you can paddock with, lol.  Always remember gas, and an air guage.  Those are usually my 2 most checked things when I come off the track every session.  Just make a good list of stuff to bring and get plenty of rest the night before.  Most people under estimate how mentally and physically taxing it is to do a track day.

It was awesome. Kind of chili when we started and water running across the track on the two straights so my first track day wasn't ideal but I'm glad I went. There were only 6 bikes total including Jeff and Derek. I had the only Monster and a Hypermotard was there, everyone else was on 1098r's!.. I was nervous at first but got better as the day went on. Need to work on alot things next time. Jeff and Derek were cool even to poor country boy like myself. I'm already planning on making the open day in Nov.

I wish I could do more days but Cresson is 130 miles away, makes it more difficult but I'll be back! It was the best/coolest thing I've done on a motorcycle...so far.
