Recently I was riding home from work and my speedometer cable popped out of the mount down by the front wheel.  So I ordered a new one and put it on...and now I still can't get it to work.  If I unscrew the cable at the wheel I can make the speedo work by chucking it into my drill and spinning it and I also took the whole cable assembly and turned it around and remounted it but still nothing.  Anybody got any ideas???

You can pull the front wheel out and remove the speedo drive unit, see if it's broken.

Yeah, I was hoping I didn't have to do that, I would have to get a front end stand first, I have been thinking about getting one...good excuse to spend more money!

If you have a rear stand and a garage you can cheap out and use tie down to ratchet up the front end from the rafters.
