Just wondering if anyone know the history behind the Ducati Meccanica logo other than it was used on lots of Ducati singles in the 1950's ans 1960's?

Also do you think it will look funny on a modern moster?

Juan

Don't know about the history of it, however I think it is one of the cooloest logos.
It has the wings of Ducati, the D of DUCATI and the laurels of champions. This can be one old logo, but it is a log that is timeles. It would go good on any bike of any year.

My opinion.

I believe it represents the factory that makes the bikes .

It is from back in Ducati's history but it represents the people who made the bikes that went out and raced .

Wear it proudly.

I just read something about this the other day.  It said that Ducati started out making electronics and also making mechanical things.  They split the company into two parts, and like said above the Meccanica side made motorcycles- maybe other things mechanical too, while the Ducati electronica side made electronics - or something.

Yeah, they split the company into two parts after the Allies split the company into millions of pieces during WWII.  Without the bombing of the original company, there may have been no Ducati motorcycles.

Is that a carbon tank? If so where did you get it and do they make it for fuel injected models?
