I thought that the DIY Painting Tips thread in the Tech section was a sticky.  But lately it's been drifting farther down the page like any other thread.  Did something change or is it my browser or am I suffering from perception malfunction?  The thread's very useful and I think it should remain as a sticky.

I unstickied it.

I initially intended the thread to be a pro to DIYer affair....not opinion/techniques from lay persons...accurate or not. We can all break out the rattle can...and that's not a bad thing if a rattle can job is what you're after. I thought the pro process would be enlightening to those that wanted to go farther.

I'll still be here to add my limited experience to the mix. ;)

One good solution would be a painting FAQ.  But it would take a lot of time to compile it from the existing Painting thread.  I'd tackle it but I'm not very qualified and it would probably take a lot of work to fix what I came up with.

Or you could just ban the term rattle can from the thread.  But that would mean a lot of active moderation.

He Man

theres two tutorials i think about spray canning your bike.

it works. my tanks got duplicolor spray canned and then i got it cleared for $60 bucks... so far its survived 2 crashes, an expanding tank, some douche bag who keyed it, and that one time a car backed up and ran it over...oh and that one time someone poured resturant grease on it....

just make sure you clear coat it.
