I was not aware that he was a life long motorcyclist.  I remember when his Hurt Report first came out back in 76 or so.  Always thought the name apropos.

He rode "a garage full of things: Hondas, Triumphs, Nortons, dirt bikes, street bikes -- all kinds of stuff," his son said,

He brought science to MC safety so that we need not rely on myth and folklore.  Yet there is still much myth and folklore around like, "helmets cause neck injuries."  Thank you Dr. Hurt.  You will not be forgotten.
