Hi

First tech post so by all means help the newb fit in.........
My neighbor brought over this  mangled gauge cluster from one of his new bikes and asked if I could repair the PCB. The housing had been twisted and several components were knocked off of the board.

Here is the PCB that I want to ask about:

Apologies for the crappy pics

Here in the top row circled in blue is a surface mount led that is damaged, and in red a loose resistor.

Here circled in red is an empty surface mount led pad

My question is does anyone know where I might get tech data for this board, or really since most of it looks OK should I just replace what is obviously bad, plug it in & see what happens?

I did ask Danny about just using the gauge cluster off of one of his other bikes, but he said something about an "immobiliser" that would not allow this to work. I didn't understand, he printed off some pages from a shop manual for me, and to be honest I still don't understand.
I can fix the PCB, outside of that I have no idea what I am doing.

Question #2

Evidently it spent quite a bit of time outdoors with no lenses in the cluster

Any ideas about new/used faces?

I dont have any technical data on the board...but you shouldnt have a problem just resoldering that resistor, or buying the equivalent and resoldering it back on to see if it will start up...thats if the board itself is still good. But even then, its pretty useless unless its mated back with its original ECU.

email Bones. He works with vinyl and has printed out a few of the gauge sheets for that specific design ( there are several different faces available based on what year your bike is)

Thank you for your help!

I'm going to go by the shop & get model/year of the bike cause I didn't think to ask when he gave me the dash.

It would be too cool if your vinyl friend could sell me new faces!

Thanks,
JP
