I was wondering if i could use boomtubes of an s4R on my s2R ? The owner has the header pipes from an s2r.

Would it give me any troubles? Will my bike still run smooth?

Thanks in advance...

If you can get it to fit, you shouldn't have any problems. The headers on the 800 and 1000 S2R are different so make sure that the owner has the ones that match YOUR bike.

The owner has boomtubes of an S4R and the header set from an S2R.

Might take some cutting and welding, I'm not sure.

S4R (desmoquattro) and S2R-800 have the same exhausts.

I'm not sure about that, but all the aftermarket exhausts/midpipes for the S4R fit the S2R.

As I understood S2R800 and S4R exhausts will swap. S2R1K exhausts will require a different header.

I thought the connection at the cylinder was quite different on the 2V and the 4V motors.  If you aren't changing that connection, then I guess it will work?

The S4R has two round exhaust ports coming out of each cylinder head with three exhaust studs.  Ditto or 748/916/996, etc.

S4RS/T (Testastretta head) has one large oval exhaust port opening for each cylinder head with four exhaust studs.

S2R800/1000 and all aircooled engines hae one round exhaust port opening for each cylinder head with two exhaust studs.

For my BoomTube systems, the headers are all cylinder / displacement / exhaust port specific.  There is no way to make a "universal" exhaust system that will fit all the Ducati exhaust port / exhaust stud mounting configurations.

the header pipes are different, I have both bikes and used a Marvin mid-pipe and S2R under seat Termis on the S4R with no issues at all.  scooched everything forward an inch but no big deal.  the header will need to be modified onto the boomtubes to fit the S2 800
