Actually its the other way around, UPS picks up some basic packages from certain shippers and delivers them to the closest Post Office for final delivery by the USPS.  It's kind of funny to see the looks on some folks when I pull my big ass UPS truck into the Post Office parking lot and deliver a bunch of packages to them.
Isn't that what I said?

Nope. You said UPS was employing USPS. Seems it's the opposite.

Seems to me if it has a UPS shipping label and the USPS delivers it to my house that's exactly what's happening.

Maybe it's a rural thing.

We have strange customs here in the sticks.

He Man

I see both fedex and UPS trucks pulling into my local post office.

Someone told me that they accept fedex packages at the post office too. The clerk looked at me like i was smoking crack.

UPS is is moving the packages between the shipper and the nearest Post Office for the USPS, not the USPS is delivering the package for UPS.
