okay, i think that the slave cylinder on my m750 is shot but looking for some reassurance. when i pull the clutch lever in i can still feel the engine dragging a little bit and i think that is also why my engine lugs and stalls at idle can anyone tell me a way to determine this maybe a measurement on slave cylinder travel or something like that or maybe just ideas thanks.

Is it leaking?

Have you bled it?

The real answer is 'enough so it doesn't drag', but I don't have a number. ;D

If the slave cylinder isn't leaking and it's mostly disengaging the clutch, it is most likely not a problem with the slave.  If you bleed the hydraulic fluid, it should improve things.  That's what I do every time my clutch seems to drag a bit.

If you have an aftermarket slave, like the Evoluzione slave that I used to have, you're more likely to get some drag when you're trying to disengage the clutch fully.  They're designed for lower effort, which means that they don't move the clutch as far.  I replaced mine with a stock Ducati slave and have never had problems getting full disengagement ever since.

i dont have an aftermarket slave so that cant be it, i do need to bleed it but its gonna be kinda hard to get me motivated to get out there to work on it with all that f'n snow on the ground [puke]

definitly bleed the system, air squishes and wont allow the full travel. if your slave is shot, i have 3 extras  ;D.
