Will 96' 900 SS low mount cans fit on a 98" M900?

I am wondering if these 96' 900 SS low mount cans would work on my 98 900 M?
I would like to shorten the cans so i know i would have to fab up new brackets/straps.

I am mostly concerned how the pipes would mate up to my headers & how the angle of the cans would be.

Any one have advice-experience for me?
