I had some plans to make a new PC oven big enough for a Monster frame and I went to my friends place to see what kind of materials they had...needless to say, it did not come out how I planned. Its a 5x10 sheet of 14guage steel cut in half for to get 5 foot tall, and 40" sides.

I never intended for it to be this large, but it was either make it using the 5x10 sheet or waste a lot of material. So I over sized it. 14 guage is pretty make the beast with two backsing thick and im sure it wont warp like my original one. However this one is not stainless so to prevent rust, im going to go to homedepot and pick up some BBQ paint and spray the whole interior with the stuff. OR i can powdercoat in the inside with high temp powder coat thats good up to 1000 degrees.

2" of rockwool for insulation on all sides. the 2 halfs are stick welded together, but the welder jammed up and was stuck on some retarded amperage and it kept burning holes in the sheets so i had to carefully tack them together. I'm still trying to get a good used MIG or TIG gun preferably TIG so i can fully seal it.

Anyway, I ordered a digital controller and it should be ready for its first fire up later this week.

Just wanted to share. Though I'd try to pick up some local business. Not sure if anyone here is okay with shipping their small items out. Ill be posting up some pics of stuff I've done with my new gun and new oven soon. But if there's enough interest in mail in PC parts (I'm aiming at people who can stuff a flat rate USPS box up) ill try and be a sponsor. I also have a soda blaster for the delicate parts, as well as a full sand blaster for any heavier parts.

Got fire insurance for the house, not the garage.   But garage is not connected to anything anyway. Its made of 8" concrete blocks for walls and wood joist for....okay maybe the roof will be on fire but thats it!!!!

how much to do a frame for me? I have one coming that will need to be coated.

Tack some hooks at the top of the oven to let you hang stuff. I used wire coat hangers that were sitting in the closet. Free! Then you can have a rack outside the oven that you can move stuff without having to touch the stuff. Or build a rack that fits in the oven.

I found most stuff is easier to work with hanging rather than trying to have it on any kind of stand.

I think he is probably referring to the type of insurance you would need to replace damaged parts for some reason or another

i was going to weld a whole bracket up so i can hang things on a roller, i have hooks that i bought specificly for powder coating so the part will be hung and shot on that and then transferred.

The oven should be long enough for a monster frame, ill have to recheck it, I originally meant it to be laying down so i could drop a frame into it, but i just dont have the space in my garage to have something laying flat. so its standing. I'd still need to figure out how to put a frame into the oven without messing up the powder...so no frames yet. Unless you want to be my guinea pig.   


If you mean actual insurance...I dont have it. And I will not accept an item that is insanely expensive. But if I destroy a part to the point where its not just a surface paint issue, I will replace the part for you in equal condition. If it is a paint issue, I'll just send it off to get a liquid coat. It's only right for me to do that. However my point in posting up here is to see if anyone is interested in mailing small parts out. Some people have powdercoating shops in their town and the cost of mailing a frame twice is more than bringing it to their local shop and have it coated and blasted. Some people dont have this option, and maybe Joe the Plumber wants to get his rearsets and some other bits coated. Throw em in flat rate box and mail em to me!

And the fact that it's only about $100 to PC a pair of wheels here with next day pickup and no shipping...kinda kills the savings.

Thats why I said I'd aim this at local people around my area where there are only 2 shops that offer PC for non industrial applications. I only found 2 that would even accept MC parts, and they do not offer soda blasting (sand blasting cast parts = bad idea), and wont try to color match for you.

When its not balls cold out and I get the courage to hang around in my garage long enough to take my swingarm off I will drive it over.
