Nice new wheels!!   [moto]

I'm diggin' the Scirocco in the background.

Thanks, that's my Scirocco. I've had it nearly a year now. 2.0TSI - great engine, great car. It is like a go cart. I don't like one thing about the car - you can't switch off the traction control and stability control off completely. That safety net is ALWAYS there.

Shouldn't it be the torque and not the hp instead???
It should always be torque.. but, you've got to try a modern 1000cc I4, it's just breathtaking! I am going to hopefully be racing this bike in 2010 in a couple of races. That is what this bike is made for. However, from what little I've ridden the S1000RR I can tell you it's a pussy cat at low rpm and low speeds. You don't get the jerking as you may with big twins at low rpms, it doesn't drink much gas, sounds very good stock and is really very comfortable. I can't ride a 1198 for example, my bad back and the Duc's riding position just aren't compatible. That's why I've stuck by my 749 instead of upgrading to a 848.

Cool vid with a comparison to all the jap liter bikes(as if there is any comparison)

I think the numbers are impressive from a design standpoint, but that doesn't necessarily equal satisfaction for an owner. I used to get caught up in the numbers and graphs, and felt like having more peak hp was always the goal. Over the years, though, I've found I'm much more interested in how a bike makes power than how much peak power it makes. The ride tells the story. Still, conceptually, that graph is quite impressive.

I couldn't agree more; usable horsepower and torque is where it's at. I rerely get my S2R 1K over 7,000 RPM on the street or freeway. High revving, high horsepower bikes are fine for racing, but on the street I like low-end torque.
