Hey all,

 Here is the Dyno sheet from my S2R1K with the Hedman tips with the baffles installed. There are no adjustmants to the air/fuel other than a semi-open air box. It does run a little rich in a few places and I'm hoping the addition of a K&N air filter will smooth it out a little.



 In case you missed it, here is a video of the bike with the Hedmans:

Every dyno will have a different result with everything factored in but my 2000 900 dynoed at 79.93 . It has termis , ecu and k&n filter. I would have thought the 1k for a bit more though. Monstermash how open is the airbox ?

My 2000 M900Sie Dynoed at 80HP . It has pod filters, home made cans and a PCII on it. Temp humidity and altitude will all play a large role in the dyno resaults. Im at sea levle and did it in the spring. If I did it in the fall on a dry day It may go up a bit.

Mash is at sea level also, in Mass.  Those numbers do seem low for a 1000DS.  I bought his former '00 900S and dyno'd it at 82+ rwhp about a year ago.

There's always going to be some deviation between dynos, to be sure.  But a 1000DS plant giving up 8 hp to it's 8 year older 100cc smaller predecessor's a bit out of line.

Most S2R1K's I've seen have been dynoing about 80-83 stock. So that does seem a bit low to me too. Although, I don't know what mine is doing with the boomtubes...

Yeah it seemed a bit low to me too. It's funny because on the same Dyno Yuu's 900 (my old bike) only did around 72HP.

Now unless he did some additional mods since he bought it from me I would say the Dyno at me local dealer reads a bit on the low side as he stated it did 82+.

The airbox is only opened up a little. I hate the honking sound you get from it with it opened up all the way. I will say that the bike fells like it has a lot more power with the O2 plugged in but I can't deal with all the surging and popping on Decel.

Ok, it's pretty telling that we've been able to rate the same bike on two different dynos.

When I did that dyno run on the 900 I had not made any changes to the engine, fueling, intake, gearting blah blah since I picked up the 900 from 'mash.

So based on that, we can say there's about a 10% difference in the numbers of the two dynos (10 is a lot -dang) If we go on that, then we could figure that the 1000DS put out 83.98 hp if it'd been run on "my" dyno.  That's more like it... but still seems low for an additional 100cc's and a 2nd set of spark plugs.

That's definitely low for the 1000DS motor.  Either the dyno's freaky or that bike isn't putting out what it should.  A 1000Ds motor should easily be putting out 80hp, conservatively speaking, stone stock.  Are these Hedman tips really doing any good?

I recently had my S2R1K dynoed at Ducati Seattle during their spring opener event.  It too came in around 74 SAE (corrected) HP.  They included a printout of 'dynojet' numbers which was 79 (if I recall).  I think the takeaway is that dyno numbers are highly subjective.

dynojets are notorious for reading high, thats why dyno queens love em.  every dyno will give different readings, but temp/alt are all corrected so that doesnt make that much of a difference between dynos, unless they are running different SAE correction values, which ive seen some shops do.  ive seen as much as 20% difference from various cars that we dynoed at our shop on our dynapack than what the customer reported from their runs on a dynojet.
