Hi everyone.  I recently replaced my clutch slave cylinder about 2 months ago, and just recently started having some clutch problems.  I installed an aftermarket evoluzione slave cylinder and it works fine.  Now, however after riding the clutch lever starts to develop about .5 inch of play and the clutch starts to not disengage as fully as it should.  The fluid is fine, and i doubt that it is the slave cylinder, so I've narrowed it down to the master cylinder.  There is a lever adjustment on the master cylinder, however, i can tighten it fully and it just does not seem to help because i can still feel some play in the lever and the clutch does not fully disengage when shifting between gears.  Neutral is more difficult to find, and i can start to feel it drag between gear changes. I assume that the system will continue to deteriorate over time.  Do you think that the master cylinder is the problem?

Bleed and bleed again.  It sounds like you have an air bubble trapped near the master cylinder.  A banjo bolt installed at the master cylinder helps solve this problem quickly.  You can also try leaving the clutch lever engagged overnight with some rubber bands and hope the bubble rises into the master cylinder.  I removed the clutch master, raised it up so the end of the lever pointed towards the sky, squeezed the lever a few times, reinstalled, and rebled again.  It's weird you have been riding for two months no problems and it suddenly developed, but to me it sounds like air in the line playing tricks on you.  The bubble could have been there all along, fluid could be low, or there could be a leak at one of the connections. Good luck - drew

Check to make sure the hose isn't swelling also, and flush with new fluid

I bled it and tried all those things.  I think that the cylinder is just going bad.  I tried adjusting the screw on the end of the handle, and even with it turned all the way to the right, it gets a little bit better, but still not as good as it should be :(

The screw is not a lever adjustment per se.

It is to adjust the piston to make sure you have fluid returning to the master. If you adjust it too far your clutch will end up slipping.

have heard of more slave cylinder problems than with the master cylinder.
