Hey everyone. so at first I thought my tank was leaking, upon further inspection, it seems to be coming from the gasket that is surrounding the wires coming from the low fuel sensor. can I replace that? or am I stuck replacing the entire low fuel sensor?

thoughts?
thanks

Also, is it a bad thing that I just put gorilla tape around it for the time being?

The gasket comes as a spare part.  If it is the nut that is leaking you need to buy the whole sensor from Ducati but you can find an aftermaket nut at  http://www.ca-cycleworks.com

Replacement Fuel Sender Nut     All pre 2003     fuelnut     $29.00    add to cart

The nut is made from billet so it will not fail.

...and if it's leaking around the wires through the epoxy you'll need to replace the sender.

Thanks Howie for sourcing that nut! But it seems DP is right, since it's leaking through the epoxy onto the wires I believe I need to replace the unit, Though I will be purchasing that nut as a precaution.

Does anyone know where I can scrounge up a low fuel sensor unit? i found a couple on ebay, but i didnt know if there were any aftermarket versions. thanks!

No a/m that I'm aware of.

There was a thread around not too long ago where someone cobbed something up...but I wouldn't have gone that route.
