Im taking my bike in for new tires before the riding season starts, so i figured i would just throw a set of boomtubes on before so they can tune the bike up as well.  since i already have my wallet open what else am i going to need to make the boom tubes work?  i have and 06' s2r1k thats bone stock except for the basic cosmetic mods and tail chop.

Should be alright if you leave the airbox alone.  If you start moving too much air you'll have to deal with tuning

With the boom tubes you will likely need some for of fuel management, even if you leave the airbox alone. Your best bet would be to email Mark about them and ask his opinion. I know he has several types of baffles with varying restrictiveness.

Ear plugs. You will also need ear plugs.  [thumbsup]

S2R 800 with boomtubes and an open air box with a K&N.  DucPond was able to adjust it within specs using stock map and stock computer.  I plan on going to pods and will likely have my ECU re-flashed, but currently it is not necessary.

My boomtubes are more restrictive than how Mark normally ships them, so YMMV.

If you wallet is open then you might as well open your airbox.  Whether or not you open the airbox lid, depends on your taste.  Ride around the block w/ out your airbox lid on to see if the noise bothers you or not.  Even if you don't open up your airbox you should get some sort of fuel/air adjustment; ideally a Power commander w/ a custom map.  Cheers.

At everything besides WOT, my airbox is louder than the tubes.  Of course the airbox is closer to your face.......

I would think so.  I don't have an O2 sensor and they were able to set it back withing spec.  If you have an O2 sensor YMMV.
