Saw this in the new Motorcyclist mag.  More info here: http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/Custom%20Bikes/vento_400_cafe_gt.htm

Looks like it would be a fun bike to ride.

VERY cool  [thumbsup]

what a great beginner's bike, especially for a girl (assuming the prices will be low). much better looking than a Ninja, that is for sure.

I need to keep an eye on these. I get asked about tips for beginners/girls all the time.

According to the magazine, they hope to sell it in the US for around $3750, though they dont say when exactly (maybe late this year or 2011).

How is the quality of Vento? Don't they make junk scooters?

Yada, yada, yada.   It's Chinese made (PRC) and despite whatever pedigree it might claim and despite whomever designed it the bottom line is that it is still PRC made and most likely a piece of junk. Based on lots of other stuff that I see come out of there.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

When I saw this in Motorcyclist I figured (hoped) it would be pretty light, 340lbs seems kinda heavy.

I do like the looks, though
Give a man a beer, and he wastes an hour.
Teach a man to brew, and he wastes a lifetime.

And that bike was a 350cc triple in it's earlier configuration.  Still not exactly a beginners bike.

with all the cheap CF and Ti coming out of China you would think they could produce a light bike for less.

No indeed it wasn't. Alot like a light switch. Had a buddy who owned one when I was in my RD days and the Yamaha was much easier and more fun to ride...those Kawi triples just didn't like to turn.
