meh. for some things.

No offense to Shift-Tech, but they don't have many offerings for other (older Ducati) bikes listed on their site.

I actually have to say, for some things, DP cf is fine.

I've gotten some of mine at the local dealer (AMS), others through Motowheels when I didn't live near a decent dealership, and still others from Jeff_H & MonsterParts.

So I knew with my 99 Monster I would have difficulty finding exactly the parts I want. Came across a guy on ebay that seemed to offer some nice parts at a realistic price considering. He sells by "carbondude1" and the logo Racecon Products is used in his ads. He offered me a package deal on the front fender, front sprocket cover and solo seat. i figured that they certainly couldn't be as nice as OEM stuff, but at minimum, they would match each other.

When I opened the box after the 13 day trip from Australia, I was somewhat surprised the finish was quite nice. That was when it ended.

I went to mount the fender up...not only did the holes not line up, it rested, crooked no less on my stock size front tire...TIGHTLY.

I then proceeded to attempt the mounting of the sprocket cover...the holes were more than 5mm off. The shape matched my stock one...closely...but no cigar here either.

Lastly, I went to put on the solo cover...its about 7mm off from left to right and not even close to symmetrical.

Front fenders have changed over the years so a wrong fender could have happened... sprocket cover should have gone on fine - the issue was the part was incorrectly drilled. Likewise, the seat covers in my experience are universal for the pre-696/1100 monsters. I've had "lots" of cowls over the years - OEM, a custom, a DP Monster-Cup Cafe Cowl and a DP carbon (oem shape) cowl. None were year/model specific...

Sorry about the bad luck. eBay stuff is a risk. I'm always tempted by titanium or carbon bits and bolts from vendors, until I see that its coming from the far east, such as Hong Kong. Perhaps it works, but if it doesn't, who wants to be out that kind of money?!
