Hey!
new to this site. seems pretty awesome!
So i've been thinking of purchasing my first ducati.  I've been looking at a 2002 Ducati Monster 750ie
with the following:

17 K miles
Custom Dual Termignoni exhaust
Newer Bridgestone tires
Adult owned
garage kept
clean title
title in hand
*includes black Shoei helmet and gloves* .

good deal for $3750?????

thanks,

-james

If that's AUD it seems too good to be true.

agreed, and Aussies don't talk about "clean titles" and "titles in hand". Sounds like a US sale.

I think his/her screen name is clouding the issue. ;)

don't factor the helmet into the sale price! Used helmets are a big risk - not just whether they fit you, but whether they've been dropped or crashed in, etc.

australian_afro

okay. yah, i'm not really considering the helmet.
i got a sick set up of my own. may be good for the wifey.

yo, so deal or no deal????? 17k miles too much???

not if it's been maintained properly. does the current owner have any maintenance records showing valve services, timing belt changes, oil changes, etc? Also, what does "custom" termi exhaust mean?

You should post up some pictures if you have them.

don't put your wife in a helmet with unknown history. A good helmet isn't very expensive at all (<$150!), taking a used one that may no longer protect is a bad idea.

and +1 on pics. price seems good, not sure what "newer tires" really means. a newer model tire with lots of miles, or a tire with few miles?

australian_afro

k cool. i'll definitely get the maintaince check.
like i said, i could care less about the helmet...probably won't even use it. the gloves
may come in need.
a termignoni exhaust is siiiccck. check youtube vids of them.
does have a small ding in the tank, and a small tear in the seat.

junior varsity

it looks like a dark, the high mount termis aren't custom, that's just a factory accessory. mirrors will be useless positioned like that.

if the tank is dinged, check the bars for straightness - this means its fallen over.

If people didn't buy bikes based on the mirrors, no bike would ever be sold.
