Hi All,

I recently changed my battery, and when putting it back in i noticed another hose coming out of the gas tank that had a lot of slack in it, and wasn't connected to anything on the other end. My cousin, who assembles these from scratch for a local dealer in the Greater LA area tells me its the gas tank breather hose, but could not tell me if it needs to be connected or placed anywhere in particular.

Anyone know where the gas tank breather hose on Ducati Monster 620 Dark 2006 is supposed to go (obviously its connected to the gas tank, but what about the other end)? Did i inadvertently disconnect it? Where should it be rested, i.e. do i just let it hang out and run towards the bottom of the chassis, drape it high near or around the battery and air filter box? As long as its not twisted or blocked in anyway does it matter? I don't like the idea of just having a hose lose and hanging under my gas tank within structure of the bike.

It seems to start and run fine but i'm reluctant to ride it until I can figure out what to do with that hose and can't find any videos online and there is no info in my manual that covers this...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. As you might have noticed I'm a novice when it comes to maintaining my bike.

The other end is free.  That line is to drain excess fuel from the tank.  The breather hose goes to an evaporative canister.

anywhere but onto the hot exhaust...
actually, thats ok too....
This map is upside down, the plan is written in crayon, and the weather forecast is from 2011.

the line should be held in place by a wire clippydoo down near the exhaust crossover (rear of the engine, below the swingarm pivot)on the.... right side of the bike?
