Late to this party, was out of town. I have an '05 999 with goodies. Love it!! Both bikes suck in HOT Texas weather due to the open BBQ pit out back they call an exhaust. Grin But I can't imagine parting with the trip 9. Funny, didn't like them at first (like everyone else!) but they grew on me and it looks great next to my 2 Tamburinis!! waytogo [moto] Hope you enjoy it.

That's called "baked potatoes". Not to be confused with "mashed potatoes" which is what you get when you are all over the brakes while riding a monster, and uncomfortably slide up on to the tank.

I need to go back and get another ride on a 999. I had what I thought were good reasons to sell mine. I love my 848, especially with all the set up work that I've done to it but it's not the animal that the 999 was. My impression of the 999 might be different now but at one time it wasn't worth dealing with the beast.

No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.
