Getting ready to drill tonight to swap end-caps.

Can anyone tell me what rivet size i need for an end cap?  Have seen lots of variation in archives.

Thanks.

3/16 SS. You can get them from a marine store.

I used aluminum. Seems to work fine and I had them in the tool box.

Just for the archives:

3/16 x 1/4" is a perfect match for the rivest on Arrow cans.  Bought them at West Marine, but the local ACE Hardware had them also.

SS was a PITA to rivet, but i think worth it in the long run - just took a little extra hand strength, was able to do it with a cheap rivet gun.

One tip is to start at one end of the band and work around in sequence.  This insures the band lays flat, as the holes are oval to allow a little 'wiggle' room on lining them up.  On the first i band i did them out of order and have a little bit ofa bulge between a couple of rivets.

Would take 15 minutes to drill out and redo, but i am out of rivets and hardly noticeable.
