Hey all, I have a s4rs which im thinking about puting handlebar risers on for that extra bit of comfort. Question- will this make the bike look weird?

No, not at all. Plenty of folks here run risers.

I didn't go the riser route. I did this and everyone that has seen it says it's still a bada$$ Monster.
I rode the bike 260 miles two days ago through very twisty roads at a very high rate of intensity without any discomfort at all. I love it.
Here is picture taken on that ride.

Here is the thread where I describe a little bit of the change. Top is before and bottom is after.

I cannot see what you have doe as the pic is not a close up of the handlebars.
I am old and blind. All I can see is a red bike with a silver helmet apparantly going very fast on the side stand.
Got a better pic of the handlebars?

OP excuse the hyjack. The beauty of this mod as badgalbetty pointed out, the difference is subtle, at least from a short few steps away. However there is plenty of rise and pullback for comfort, plus leverage making the ride less energy intensive. IMHO
Looking FAST in the garage!

So, how did you make out with your cables and wiring? Am I right in thinking the bars are Pro
Taper Raptors? I put CR Highs on and they don't have quite the height or pullback I would like.

Yes, Raptors. My advice is to look at Pro Taper "Raptor" specs for dimensions and compare to High CR bar spec dimensions, or anyone elses for that matter. Finding the specs isn't always easy. The S2R uses "Fat Bars" 29mm center section and 22mm control ends. Okay you knew that. If I had my druthers the control ends would have been bent sooner so that they were longer. That way one could have more leeway on mounting the controls and meybe even cut off about 12mm or so. I looked around alot but to no avail. The hydraulic lines were fab'd to my spec by cyclebrake.com by about 3 3/4 inches over stock and I brought both brake lines off the master instead of using a "T" as done with stock. The throttle cable fab'd to my spec by Motion Pro about 3 5/8 inches. I needed to splice in about 4 inches of wire on the nine wires that come out of the left hand controls. The right side controls were fine as they came from the factory. I reused the stock grips. The left side grip was removed using WD-40 and a long screwdriver to smear the WD around the bar under the grip. It came right off without any force required. It really is easy. My bike was out of commission for two weeks due to the throttle cable fabrication.

Thanks for the info! I don't really want to go with a taller riser, and your mod looks great and it works. I will compare and see where I end up. Might be a project for next winter.
