i just installed the zard titanium exhaust on my monster 1100, but can't seem to get the stock heat shields to line up properly. has anyone else installed this exhaust on their 696 or 1100? did you have to use different screws or spacers?

Just leave em off. Even the stock cans look better without the shields. No complaints from passenger.

or just wait for a helpful reply. ;D

sounds good in theory but...

the tabs are welded on.

Still looks better IMO. But maybe the threaded clamp bits (for lack of technical term) aren't in precisely the right position to line up with the screws.

What exactly did you mean by not lining up properly?

the shields don't line up when using the stock screws and spacers. i was able to fix this and mount the shields by ditching the stock spacers and using 4 of the smaller length 5M screws (2 of which i had to buy).
