this really bummed me out.  lots of people pass every day, but this seemed different.  i guess
its the fact that he was a positive creative force.  i love his music.  RIP.

I grew up listening to The Boss and the ESB.

In '85 I was in 5th grade.  Coincidentally, I got my first real drumset and the 1975-'85 Live box set that year for Christmas.  I always joke that Max Weinberg taught me how to play drums. 

Clarence's saxophone riffs were what drove just about every song, and his solos were the pinnacle of every performance. 

First Danny Federici, and now, Clarence.   

Can someone post up Born To Run?  That's one of my all time faves besides Jungleland, Badlands, Thunder Road, Bobby Jean, Hungry Heart...  etc.

I remember one of my teachers bringing in Greetings from Asbury Park in 1973; she was telling us that this was a local boy that was going to make it big (grew up in Philly) and she told us that we should pay attention to the sax because it was legendary- I paid attention for the last 38 years.

Stayed up late last night, listening to all my faves from "Greetings" all the way up through "Magic" and "Working on a Dream".   Dammit, he was great...

I remember my parents letting me stay up past my bedtime one night so I could watch Clarence's guest appearance on "Different Strokes".  Gary Coleman was trying to impress a girl by "playing" the sax, with the Big Man really playing from behind the scenes...
