Rear Hub issue on a S4R

So i've noticed that when i'm riding and pull in the clutch i feel this weird pulsing vibration like there is a bent rotor or something. So i applied the front brake and nothing. Applied the rear brake and still feel it. So i get home a put it on the stand and rotate the wheel by hand and there is definitely some resistance once you get to a certain point. So i decided to take apart the rear wheel assembly to get to the hub to check the bearings. The bearings seem fine. It did have the original chain which was pretty much thrashed, but i'm not sure. I did do a search and i found a topic about someone feeling and hearing a knocking noise. Not sure if this could relate but maybe. But i thought i would change out the bearings in the hub since i have it all apart. So are the bearings that fit together on the sprocket side the same? and how much do you think a dealer would charge if i brought the the hub and new bearings? Any help is much appreciated!

I've noticed some odd behavior on the single sided bikes on a rearstand.
The pin isn't an *exact* fit inside the axle, so they act funny when you spin the wheel.

My advice is to replace your chain and sprockets first, see if the noise/vibration goes away.

Pretty much any Ducati dealership is gonna point and laugh if you ask them to replace the sprocket-side bearing. The factory workshop manual IS very particular about this fact...

Not really much drama to change as per my tutorial thread that ducpainter pointed you to. I haven't got around to working out how to do the needle bearing on the other side though.

Take Speedog's advice: chain and sprockets first :).

So i contacted my local dealer and they said they would replace all of them if i brought them the hub and bearings. Ducati wants almost 300 dollars for all three bearings. I looked at my hub some more and found that the ball bearings aren't bad, it was just the needle bearing. So i found an industrial bearing shop downtown and gave them the part number. 43 bucks and they could have it to me in a week. Pretty good if you ask me. Motion industries is the name of the place. Really helpful and knowledgeable. I'll let you guys know how it turns out next week.
