i am thinking of getting rid of my PCIII usb and having Desmo Porsche re flash my stock ecu to DP specs.  I got thinking when I added my Power commander should i have taken my bike to a dealership to have the TPS adjusted? or does the power commander do it?

what year/model bike do you have?  everyone was telling me to reset my TPS when i got mine flashed (including desmo porche) and i went through the TPS reset in the vdst.  that seemed to work, but then i was told by someone with the same year/model as mine that my TPS reset was only possible if i hooked up a multimeter to it and physically adjusted the screws...  my bike starts, and the trimmer value saves (no more popping!) so, for now...it's close enough.

The tps on your bike needs to be reset manually.

Any time you're playing with fuel mapping it's sound practice to have the basic set up (synch, tps, etc) correct.

How else would you know if what you've adjusted is working or not?

Are you sure it's manual DP?  I've got the '03 800 and mine is only resetable with VDSTS or another computer hookup.

Not sure of anything about FI bikes Scott. I'm a dinosaur. ;D

There was a thread recently discussing a later model S4R and the TPS was a manual adjust. Silly me assumed that a bike with an earlier ecu would also be a manual adjust. [bang]

If it has screws it is set manually, if it has rivets it is set with diagnostic software.
