the police station?

we have a winner!

I was up in the evidence room most of the day and when I came back down and noticed a van where my car should have been I asked if anything interesting had happened that day. The dispatcher said "no, not really" and I asked if he was sure, to which he replied "well we did have one car towed from across the...OH SHIT, WAS THAT YOURS?!?!"

I got a good laugh, a ride in the cruiser to get my car back, and a great story out of it.

In 1995 I had a job interview at the University of Maryland. I drove my 1987 Crown Victoria station wagon (big car). I found a metered spot on the side of the road near the building I was going to visit. The space was a bit tight, but I could make it in if I turned the wheel just at the right moment. I was attempting to parallel park in an open legal metered space. I pull just forward of the space signal that Im turning and stop. I put the car in reverse and I back up slowly. As my mirror passes the rear of the car just in front of the space I cut the wheel hard and turn in. I then cut the wheel hard the other way to straighten up. Im almost all of the way in and my rear tire hits the curb. If I pull up a bit Im in. At this point I hear a voice yelling "stop". I stop and it is a meter maid yelling at me. She calls a police officer over and I get out of the car. She said that I almost hit the car behind me. I say thanks and get back in my car. I start to pull forward and the cop starts writing me a ticket. The officer never addressed me directly. I get out of my car and start walking away(unaware of a ticket) I get tackled and cuffed. The officer held me in cuffs on the side of the road for 3 hours! I was given a ticket for not obeying an officers directions and for parking more than 12 inches off of the curb. I had no idea what was going on and it was never explained to me. I missed my interview. I documented everything and went to court on my day. Cop did not show up. Judge found him in contempt  of court and issued a warrant. It was a good day for me.

^ this is epic. I hate when police officers abuse their powers, it happens all to often. Being 21 years old and at college I get stopped at least 2 times a week during the college drinking nights. Thurs/Sat, I don't drink and every time I am stopped this is the first thing I say. The officer always look at me and goes "oh, ok" and walks away. I always say "why did you stop me" and they just get in the car and drive away. None of these times do the officers have probable cause to stop me, and yes, it is completely illegal. Yet it happens week after week.

I had a very similar story and the ticket was thrown out as well.

The guy was writing me up for a ticket as soon as I pulled into the parking spot. I had a special pass for the spot that someone in the college complex was running down to me.

Before I could even get my foot out this Bicycle pulls up blocks my door so I cant even get out and proceeds to walk behind my car and starts writing me up. I finally get out of the car and ask him what the hell he is doing and he just says to late. Its already in the system and don't hate me... its Just my Job. I was like okay... your job is to be a douche bag =)

In any case it was thrown out in the long run.

Why? Ever live in a college town? Every single car will be stopped on a Thursday night without cause because they assume your drinking. You need probable cause to pull someone over. No bullshit here.

Yes I have. I also know that with the legal liability police officers face these days they always wait for a driver to give them PC before they stop them. It never takes long. Just because they don't tell you why they stopped you doesn't mean they don't have PC. And if several different Officers all do the same thing (quickly walk away from you) it probably just means you need a shower.
