It puts the billet aluminum on the motorcycle...

« on: April 25, 2010, 02:32:00 PM »

7:30 AM: Cappuccino, ride the 1198s with good friends to Tambucks...to meet up with other good friends.

8:00 AM: Rip it up from Tambucks over panoramic, up Highway 1, following Signiore Moore. At one point, Sig. Moore motions me to pass, then encourages me to do a wheelie...at 100mph Grin Of course, I oblige. At this point, I don't even need to slow down for the curves...thank you Ohlins waytogo

8:45 AM: Arrive at Pt. Reyes Station, meet an old friend from junior high, swap bikes with Desmostro, and ride out to the Nicasio Reservoir, wheelieing the 848 a few times.

8:55 AM: Swap bikes back with Desmostro...I can't go without the 1198s for too long. Ride to Infineon Raceway to watch Tigre compete in Open Superbike and Open Twins. It's 80 degrees at the track, with a cooling breeze, and I have shorts in my backpack. Other friends arrive, and we watch the races from turns 9 and 2. Zee man takes photos with his gigantic telephoto. We start to leave Infinewon, and run into Mark, who just stopped by to congratulate me on the new bike.

1:30 PM: After helping Tigre and Spidey work on the race bike, we head up 121 to Sonoma, then cut out 116 towards Petaluma. I swap with Alfonso so he can get a taste of Il Diavolo Rosso. The sun is still shining, and it's fluctuating between 70-90 degrees, depending on microclimate.

3:00 PM: We arrive at the Race Track, Highway 1 and Tomales-Petaluma Rd. My very first time through this stretch on the superbike. Cars melt away into the rearview mirror. All the cops are out on 101 giving tickets. We're on Highway 1 violating every part of the vehicle code with flair. Into Pt. Reyes Station, out to San Rafael via Olema, and on home to...

4:00 PM: Ace Cafe, no cigarette smoke to foul the air, enjoying fries and a beer while watching two stomping good WSBK races...no spoilers here.

5:27 PM: Heading out to the street food fair. More Pizza Hacker, Smitten Ice Cream, Soul Cocina, and others.

I love living here...

To all LEOs who may be reading, I did not encourage any hooliganistic behavior. I simply encouraged a safe pass over the dotted yellow line.  Grin
