service engine light

Does anybody know how to turn the service engine icon off on an 09 696 without going to a dealer?, its a pain to get to the battery.

Don't those lights come on for a reason?

the wrench comes on at service intervals. problem is if you wrench yourself OR in my case, get the service done 10 freaking miles too soon. there's no way to turn it off
