I don't do this much, because it brings up too many memories, but. . .
Pink Floyd, (After Sid, before Roger)
Grateful Dead (Too numerous to count)
Led Zeppelin
Edgar Winter Group
John Lennon (Solo)
Frank Zappa
Lynyrd Skynyrd (W/ Ronnie Van Zant)
Crack The Sky

Probably more, I just haven't kept track of who's died in the past few years.

Yeah...I know for some it might seem like something they don't want to remember, but I thought it would give me a sense of people's eras and tastes in music.  There are some great musicians in here.  good inspiration to get out there and see more live music too.  Even in just your message...Zappa, John Lennon, Zeppelin.  Awesome.

Jimi Hendrix Experience.... ( all dead )
Uriah Heep 2X......( before David Byron and Gary Thain died )
Traffic 2X............( long before Jim Capaldi , their original Drummer died)
Beach Boys......( long before Dennis Wilson , drummer died )
Mountain 2X.........(original Bass player, Felix Pappalardi )
Chicago...........(before Terry Kath , the original lead guitarist died )

I saw all these bands in the late '60's and one in the early '70's.

this thread makes me seriously upset. music died before i was born.

i did however, kinda sorta get to see the Grateful Dead...but I was in utero so I really don't remember it.

Haven't seen anyone who's passed away (that I know of), but I did get to see the Guns -N- Roses/Metallica/Faith No More concert.

Stevie Ray Vaughan hit me pretty hard as I had just seen him.  Saw him about a year before he died and heard the news on the radio. Couldn't listen to him for a couple years.  Saw Morphine a couple times before Mark Sandman passed.  Was really, really into Chris Whitley and saw him live at least twice.  Have all his albums. Got to see Mitch Headberg (comedian) just before he died also.  Those are the ones I can think of for now...almost makes me not want to go out and see live music!
