Front axle sizes

Anybody know if there is a difference in sizes on the front axles for the newer monsters vs sbks? I've got a pair of 999 forks and I need to get an axle for them and I found a 25mm front axle from a 2004 S4R that looks the same. So I figured if it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck then I guess it must be.

Any Ideas on whether or not there would be an issue with this? thanks

For 25mm axles, I think all of the forks with conventional caliper mounts will accept the same axles.

The Monsters with radial caliper mounts have different axles from what I recall.
