what'll make a difference also is if you are planning on carrying in the wheels and tires or riding the bike in with the tires around your waist like a Hula Hoop (or hoops).....

i guess i'm open to either... unless it's illegal to ride around with unconventional cylindrical rubber crash gear.

I've never heard of it being illegal to ride around looking like the Michelin man....

Don't go getting any ideas? I really crack myself up sometimes.

I think the closest place to you would be Colemans in Falls Church...I have never been there, and have heard mixed reviews...
Donnie's place is the best in my opinion.

I'd be curious to hear how you make out with that, most of the shops won't do what you are asking anymore. Fast Lane cycles might, they are in Chantilly. - Gene

I wouldn't trust the FC Coleman's to put air in my tires.  Try RAM cycles in Gaithersburg.  A few years ago I strapped two tires to my back with rope like a back pack and rode there from Arlington.  I used three pieces of rope.  One around each shoulder and through the tires and one around the waist and through the tires.  I got some strange looks on the freeway.  RAM was one of the few places that didn't have a massive surcharge for bringing the tires in.  The last time I bought new tires, I called and checked their prices and bought my tires directly.  Their prices were close enough to the on-line places, so I avoided having to tie myself up in tires.

another reason dealerships may turn you away in this task (as I was told by Myers Cycle and Battley and Cycles USA) is that for liability reasons...alot of places won't install tires from unknown and/or unnamed sources because there are people selling blems and possible defect tires out there as new and if something happens (of course they can disregard their own policies at will on a case by case basis if they know the customer versus someone who just walks/rides in off the street)...they have no recourse for warranty and the customer will almost always go to the installer and blame them 1st if there is a problem, and if the installer has no proof of purchase from a reputable source, then they have no backing or recourse for warranty from manufacturer and become the responsible party....not a problem they want to have to deal with, so they choose not to....they also don't want to be cut out on the possible profits and benefits from purchasing and reselling the tire themselves...but that is another issue with a whole other level behind that curtain I could go into...

I went to Coleman's in Falls Church and it was $30 per tire.  I bought in a pair of Shinko's for my little 600ss and they didn't even bat an eye to put them on.  Mounted and balanced.  They also showed me one of the wheels was bent a little, not enough to make a problem, but it was nice they pointed it out.

I've seen cheaper but nothing as close for me.  Cheapest I've ever paid was $15, and $30 was the highest.

Vondari was charging $25/tire but he's out of business or something.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I bought a set of Pilot Road 2's from Speed's Cycle in Elkridge last month and had them mount on my bike and they scraped the paint off the edge of my rear wheel. I didn't notice it until I got the bike home. I gave them a call and got an apology and a" bring it by we'll take a look at it". I live 115 miles away so I just asked for a refund of $50 (the total bill, out the door was $500) but they refused. I have since scored a set of mag wheels so needless to say, I will be taking it to Donnie at DucPond. They are further away (185 mile) but worth it because their service is top notch. My opinion, FWIW.
