Useless plug?

08' S2R 1k. there is a plug that comes off the ECU which is about 3 inches long and is not being used (not plugged into another). What is this for? It shows on the parts print, but does not give a number or use.
08' S2R 1K   That was close  damn near lost a $400 hand cart.

I believe that's the comm plug for the test equipment.

Good thing I asked, cuz I was ready to cut it off. I  am trying to eliminate some of the "rats nest" wiring.

You can clean up the wiring by doing some consolidation/rerouting, but I'd refrain from chopping things up too much unless you have some experience with that sort of thing.
