immobilizer inactivated

I sent my ecu back to desmoporsche to get a (reflash) . What is a reflash and why does it cost 250$. I asked them to check the ecu, and make sure to turn all immoblizers off. do i need to tell them to put it to dp? I have stock exhaust .its a m600 2005

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if you don't know what a reflash is, why are you sending your ECU off for one?

To reflash means to install a new copy of the firmware to the memory of the ECU.

It costs $250 because that's the amount of money they want for it and you appear to be willing to give them that amount.

Are you sure you have a 2005 Monster 600? Wouldn't it have been a 620?

I don't know if you need to, or even if you should, tell them to "flash it to dp." This might well depend in part on what sort of ECU it was to start with and on the reason for the reflash.

Ah. He accidentally started a new thread instead of replying in the one he started. Got it.

I still don't understand why he sent his ECU off for a re-flash then asked what a re-flash was and why it cost $250, but that's his business. Heck, I don't even understand why he bought a non-functioning bike with that level of technical savvy, but I don't need to.

Yes.

However, I'm pretty sure the problem is that the immobilizer became activated. As long as it's inactive, it isn't doing any immobilizing.

You're right.  If it has be deactivated it will be inactive for sure.
