Another brake light problem

I have looked hi and low on the internet for the past few weeks to find a solution to my problem, I am aware that there have been plenty of posts on here and other places with the same issue, but non of them really help me.

My Problem: I have an M.O.T coming up soon and need to get my brake light to work (all the fuses and bulbs are ok) When I apply the front or rear brake, the brake light does not illuminate. I have removed the micro switch from the lever to test it and to see if it is the actuating button, but this doesn't seem to affect my problem. I have disconected and tried both front and back switches seperately to try and eliminate one but still have had no luck.

If it helps, my bike is a 99 m600 dark.

I hope its not to big a problem and a simple case of changing a switch somewhere. Does any one have any suggestions or advice to how I can solve this.

I have limited electrical and mechanical knowledge so any explanations would be appreciated in as much detail as possible.
