I already searched and can't find anything on this, so here's my new post.

I have a '07 S4R. The exhaust is stock and I want to get rid of the mid-pipe, but I don't mind the look of the stock cans. I'm considering the Marving mid-pipe. I need to know how difficult the install is for this item. Is it easy to remove the stock system after 10k miles of riding or will special tools be needed? When installing the new mid-pipe, how easy is it to get it properly installed and all connetions sealed? Is this normally problematic?

How about ECU programming... is the stock programming really going to be an issue since I'll use the stock cans?

I know this is a newbie question for many of you, but that's why I'm asking the experts. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

i installed a Marving midpipe to my S2R1000 without any problems so I wouldn't imagine you having any issues.
If you have to undo the header pipe make sure you use WD-40 or similar on the exhaust nuts for ease of removal.
Header gaskets should be ok if you're careful with the removal of the stock system.

One thing I did after the install and before you start the bike up is clean the midpipe with WD-40 or similar using a clean cloth to get rid of any greasy/oily finger prints, otherwise any marks can be cooked onto the nice new pipe.

No special tools needed for install.
If you are using the stock cans the ECU will be ok as is. If you open the airbox well that may be a different matter.

Someone may be able to chime in with anything I've missed.

good luck with the install.

I just installed on on my 05 s4r the other week. Easy and straight forward. I had to remove the front cylinders header, and lining up the pipe with the rear header while lining up the front headers mounting bolts, while simultaneously screwing in the bolts is slightly easier with an extra set of hands, but not impossible alone.
