Just replaced a perfectly good 35 watt HID kit with a 55 watt kit and now have a problem.....turn the key on and the light works perfectly, both high and low-beam......but as soon as i start it up the light dies, never to return.......does anyone have some input to my problem...? I switch it off......then on again........it works......goes off as i kick it into life......has me baffled..... gggrrrrrrrr............. ![bang head](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/banghead.gif)

I noticed my bike shuts the light off as I press the starter for a moment, presumably to reduce the load on the battery while starting.
It may be that your HID light doesn't like that, or else that doing that to is causes enough of a start-up surge that it's damaged the relay or wiring.

Might have to go German i think.......i was given a new ballast as the last one was faulty and it seemed to fix the problem................that is....until tonight when i found that over 5000rpm the bloody thing just cuts out completely.......only to come back on when i back off....not a nice experience on a dark night..........back to the drawing board...........

Sounds like your light has an overvoltage cutoff, which comes on when your bike is revved.
Have you got a voltmeter? It'd be good to measure your battery voltage at various revs.
It may be that your battery is on its way out - their series resistance increases when they get old, so the terminal voltage goes up more under charge (and down more under discharge).

Finally fixed it suzyj...........well........(lie).......George & Shaun did........... ![waytogo](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/waytogo.gif) ........ He did put the meter on it, eventually they found that it was the connections inside the HID's fuse assembly plus my lack of finding a suitable earth.........an hour later all was well......many thanks for the input all........ brian.
