If I get a power commander V for a Ducati monster 1100s abs is it pointless to buy a DP ECU then?

You would gain the increased RPM with the DP ecu.

The PC V gives infinitely more tuning options for your bike and allows for a completely custom tune. The DP ecu tune is a generic one size fits all tune. To maximize your power the PC V would be better IMHO, because the DP does not take into account environment. What temp was the tune created at, elevation, humidity. Obviously the DP w/ the PC V would be the best option.

However if I had to choose one or the other I would take a professionally dyno tuned PC V bike over the DP ecu bike due to cost/benefit of each.
