Setting CO levels

It's time for service on the bikes and with the loss of my favorite semi local dealer I will be doing the work my self.  The only area that I do not have tools for is the CO content.  I have looked into getting a gunson gastester and it does look like the best DIY solution, but I do allready have an inovate LM1 wideband.  Can the wideband be used to set an idle air/fuel ratio and get the same effects as setting the CO?  If so would I be looking for 14.7 - 1?  Or would I need to go richer or leaner?

What bike do you have?  I would run more like 13.5-14, 14.7 is too lean for good performance ans smooth running.

I have a 620 monster and a 848, niether have a power commander on them so I am looking for propper idle levels by adjusting the trim with the VDSTS for a propper mixture through out the whole rev range.  I agree power comes a little leaner then 14.7, I just would not want to set it lean at idle and find it goes very lean at WOT.

I would probably set the bikes at 13:1 at idle and see how it goes, particularly if you are running aftermarket exhaust and modified intake.  CO trim will have little to no effect on high RPM/loads operation.

depends what year model on the 620 and if dp ecu is installed on the 848.
if you're still running closed loop (o2 sensor bossed system) you won't be able to adjust the trimmer, also as howie said the trimming will modify from idle till 4500 rpm aprox and below 85% throttle inputs, other than that the ecu has a fixed map that cannot be altered and the inj, ign timing and duration cannot be modify.
13.5 is a good starting point immo.
do you have 1 wideband sensor on each cyl?
if yes you are good since you'll be able to read each cyl......if not I'd get the gastester to be able to adjust both cyl @ the same co levels.
