Does it affect the brightness much?

Brightness is only slightly less than stock, so they are plenty bright for traffic to see

Did you spray the outside of your indicators? If you use nightshades on the inside of the lens you do not need clear coat as the plastic on the outside retains its original shine?

I sprayed the outside of the lenses, the can says not to use on the inside of lenses ( not sure why) so I played it safe, plus it would have been much more difficult to get an even coat on the inside of the lense, if they ever chip or streak I will just sand the coating off and respray (I have already done this once as I screwed up the first application).

It was stored in a heated garage on tire stands with a trickle battery charger from October '09 through May '10. It has been put on the stands and covered whenever not in use.
