bent steering stop (sbk)

Getting ready to send this frame off for powder, need advise on how to fix/straighten the stop if it's possible and worth it.

No one has any ideas?
The stop looks like a cast piece so I fear it will snap if coaxed back into the original shape

I'd leave it alone for just that reason.

Can you adjust things so the bars don't hit anything?

Went out and looked at it.  Maybe a new problem, the stops on the triple aren't contacting the stop on the steering head right, it is the adjustable headstock in the rear setting looks like it would have to be in the forward setting for the stops to properly hit the stop on the tube.  DP, you have a 916 series right? You leave your eccentric in the rear position?  It is a lower off a 1098 and it's a 748 frame but the part numbers on the triples are the same, even though the stops are adjustable on the 1098 lower unit and not on the 748.  When moving to full lock left the stop on the triple hits the pinch bolt area before hitting the stop on the frame and full right the mass of the stop on the triple hits and the adjustment screw doesn't at all.

While not ideal, it looks like the screws can be adjusted to hit.

 From the pics it looks like if you put a nut on the inside of the screw the stop would hit the nut. If you have room you could double nut them and then have adjustment.

Yeah it's possible.  I'm going to try to mount the 748 lower I have (with slightly different stops) and see how they hit.

I just think that because of the slight bend the one stop isn't long enough.

Adjust that thing in a little. ;)

The screws aren't hitting at all, it's like they are too far to the rear on both sides, doesn't look like they would hit regardless of how they are adjusted. I'm wondering how the are supposed to work on an eccentric headstock in both the frward and rear settings.

If it were me, I'd just cut it off, and make one that would work at all head angles and have it welded on before coating.  Seems simple enough.
