Rec Needed for Motor Rebuild

Fortunately it's not for the Monster, but I'm hoping with the wealth of experience here someone can give me a hot tip even though it's not Duc-related.

I swamped my TT-R250 dirtbike last year and apparently did some bottom-end damage getting it restarted (there's a careful process to follow to get the water out, which I didn't, and am now paying dearly).  My preferred mechanic for all non-Duc work, who I've used exclusively and with complete confidence for 18 years, has an (understandable) policy of deferring all engine overhauls to wintertime.  I have several multi-day off-road trips planned for this summer (including a long-awaited first visit to the Hatfield-McCoy trails with my 11 year old son), and therefore really can't wait until winter to get the bike fixed.

A racing friend suggested I bring it to RAM Cycles in Gaithersburg (Alex Swetlow's new shop), and Alex thought he would be able to get to it relatively quickly, but he's had it for nearly 6 weeks and only gotten through an initial diagnosis (i.e., that it's bottom-end and not top-end).  And I'm not getting a warm and IZ_ that he'll get to it before the leaves start turning.

So can anyone recommend a first-rate shop or solo mechanic who does dirtbike motors (this is a 4-stroke air-cooled single)?  I'm willing to travel up to about 100 miles from DC.  Thanks for any guidance.

What's better than a good mechanic who might be able to fix your bike in time? How about a complete bike as a loaner? I happen to have a TT-R 250 in my garage. As most craigslist adds claim: it ran when I put it in there, but I haven't started it in a bit. It's been sitting for a bit so I'm sure it'll need a new battery, but you are welcome to borrow it. If you want to come by a take a look, shoot me an email.

So I 'fess up to knackering my motor by an impatient response to a swamping, and in addition to a bunch of good recommendations for mechanics I get an offer to borrow a replacement.  I appreciate the unearned confidence being expressed that I've learned my lesson!

Thanks for all the responses.  I will start with Rick at R&R, and look further afield if that doesn't pan out.  Steve, I really appreciate the loaner offer, and will let you know within the next week or so if I want to take you up on it, depending on whether I conclude I can get mine fixed by the end of June/early July.
