It's on my bucket list. I'd work there for free sweeping the floors just to be around all those scooters! That's my dream trip.
How many thousands of pics did you take?

A couple of years ago a friend and I were visiting the museum when we spotted George Barber visiting with one of the receptionists. We introduced ourselves and asked if we could get a couple of photos with him. After spending a few minutes talking and answering our questions he asked us if we'd like him to show us around. Our answer of course was "sure". Mr. Barber spent well over an hour giving us a tour of the museums warehouses, machine shops and behind the scenes stuff. Then took us for a drive around the outside of the track in his van (which was packed with fishing gear) showing us his future plans and talking about his vision for the Barber facilitly. Then we spent 2 days doing the CLASS school putting in laps on the track.
Needless to say it was an unforgettable experience.

Very few things in life live up to the hype you hear about them.
In my experience, the Grand Canyon and Barber Museum are two that most definitely do.
I would also add the Air & Space museum in D.C., the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio, and New York City.

Boog,
What as awesome experience! How freaking cool is that?? Personal tour by the Man himself. Wow...
I know it's a whole other thread on No Moto Content but Barber is doing what I would do if I was a multi millionare and could do whatever I wanted to financially. And just like he did that day, I would hang around and give people personal tours of the facility and yes... my van would also be packed with fishing gear!!

Negative. George Barber is the namesake of the Barber Dairy Company, and by association Barber's Milk. (If you are a Southerner, you have most likely had it. It's GOOOOOD.) He made his money in the dairy business, then sold the company for a ridiculous amount of money. He's an aivd motorcycle and vintage race car collector. If you think the museum is cool, you need to see his "shop".
BTW, he has so many old, rare and awesome motorcycles that he has to rotate them between the museum and his warehouse, so you can go many, many times (I have) and always see new bikes.
I live 30 minutes away from Barber Motorsports Park. Next time any of you DMF'ers come down, let me know, and I'll buy you a beer, show you some good roads, and give you a place to crash if needed.

That place is ridiculous. I think I could spend a whole day on one floor and still feel like I didn't see everything. When I was there, I got to tour the basement, and they started up some of the bikes, including an outrageous 5-cylinder two-stroke Kawasaki.
