Strange startup dash board on S4R (03)

Hi All, need your advice about what's wrong on my bike. When I turn on the key to "on" position, usually the dashboard arm will move forward & backward as to system checking (from 0 to another end). My problem is, sometime when turn the key on, instead of the arm to go antoher end, it sometimes goes half way or 3/4 way and back. But I still can start engine as usual.

What's wrong with my bike & what's the root cause of this symthom? Thanks in advance for answer.

Mine does that sometimes.  I first noticed it about 30,000 miles ago.  I don't think its anything to worry about.

Used to ask technician at the service center, he said it might be from aging battery. I also notice this sympthom when no ride for days. But if I ride often, no any symthom at all.

I've seen that occasionally, but haven't found any problem associated with it.
