tank fitment question

Does anyone know if a tank from a 2001 M750 will fit a 1997 M750, both are carb models.

The seats are different.

There will be a gap between the edge of the seat and the cutout of the tank.

Damn, I had an offer for a 2001 tank for a good price.

You could probably pick up a later model seat for a reasonable price.
