Or I could have totally missed reading that.  I know which I think is more probable ;)  Thanks.

sounds like a goofy gauge issue...
i noticed while riding a few months ago that for some reason my tach was reading wierd, and my speedo said 140... which was clearly off... as i was doing about 40mph.

for some reason, the speedo was zeroing at 100mph... wierd.
i shut the bike off, gave the gauges a swift punch in the nuts, and bam! all was well again.

I'm gonna assume that your bike info is wrong and that you actually own a Capirex 620.

I'd say you are probably over-reacting. The rev limiter is there for a reason.

The car this came out of has a Rev limiter.

Damn!! Did this person "upshift" into 1st from 4th or something. That level of damage requires some serious violence.
Is this thing on?

I've often wondered what the rev limit is on the M750, usually after I zing it up to 9k on a false neutral.  The rev limiter for the 750, of course, is when the engine blows.

9K is red line, but it would take a lot more than that to break a 750.

My boss' son blew the timing belt, mashed every valve, and did other assorted damage downshifting his dad's BMW.  To quote my boss, "I'm going to pick up my car as soon as they find an adding machine big enough to figure the bill with."
